Introduction

Offset is the additional calculation / adjustment that is applied to rates before they are sent to a channel or channel reservation delivered to your Property Management System (PMS). 

Please refer to Offset Overview and on How to manage your offset calculations on when you need to set up an offset and calculation rules in detail. 

We offer four types of offset, which can be customized based on your operational needs. The one with higher priority always overrides the lower ranking.

1. Offset on a Product (Channel Room Rate) 

1.1 To manage Product Offset, follow these steps from the Main menu:

• Navigate to "Channel" from the Main Menu
• Choose "Connected Channel", followed by "Channel Room Rates"
• Locate the room type and rate plan you wish to apply
• Click on the "Calculator' icon next to your selection
• Follow the detailed guide for How to manage your offset calculations  
• Save the changes

This created rule will not be applied automatically to other room types on the same room rate. However, you can click "Apply to" when setting up Offset to selected room types/rates. 

1.2 Alternatively, you can manage Product Type Offset directly from the Main Calendar

• On the Main Calendar, locate the room type and rate plan you wish to modify
• Expand the channel icon to reveal additional options
• Click on the "Calculator" icon associated with the desired room type and rate plan
• Follow the detailed guide for How to manage your offset calculations 
• Save the changes

2. Offset on a Room Type

2.1 To manage Room Type Offset, follow these steps from the Main menu:

• Click on "Property" and choose "Offset"
• To create a new Offset, click "Add Offset". To modify an existing one, select "Edit Offset"
• Follow the detailed guide for How to manage your offset calculations 
• Save the changes

2.2 Assign offset to specific room types:

• Scroll down to the "Assignment" section
• Select "Room Type" as the assignment category
• Mark your desired room types in the list
• Save the changes

2.3 Alternatively, you can manage Room Type Offset directly from Room Type setup.

• On Room Type set up, scroll down to the Offset section
• Here, you can either create a new Room Type Offset or apply an existing one from the drop down list
• Save the changes

3. Offset on a Rate Plan

3.1 To manage Rate Plan Offset, follow these steps from the Main menu:

• Click on "Property" and choose "Offset"
• To create a new Offset, click "Add Offset". To modify an existing one, select "Edit Offset"
• Follow the detailed guide for How to manage your offset calculations 
• Save the changes

3.2 Assign offset to specific rate plans:

• Scroll down to the "Assignment" section
• Select "Rate Plan" as the assignment category
• Mark your desired rate plans in the list
• Save the changes

3.3 Alternatively, you can manage Rate Plan Offset directly from Rate Plan setup.

• On Rate Plan set up, select "Rate Setup" from the top section
• Here, you can either create a new Rate Plan Offset or apply an existing one from the drop down list
• Save the changes

4. Offset on a Channel

4.1 To manage Channel Offset, follow these steps from the Main menu:

• Click on "Property" and choose "Offset"
• To create a new Offset, click "Add Offset". To modify an existing one, select "Edit Offset"
• Follow the detailed guide for How to manage your offset calculations 
• Save the changes

4.2 Assign offset to a specific channel:

• Scroll down to the "Assignment" section
• Select "Channel" as the assignment category
• You will see a pop up message "Please select offset on channel setting, applied channels will show here after your selected"
• Save the changes

4.3 Next, go to the connected channel (or available channel during initial connection)

• On Channel Setting, scroll to the Rate Rules section
• Under Offset Rule, apply an existing one from the drop down list
• Save the changes

4.4 When you go back to Property-Offset from the Main menu to view, you will see the channel shown in the Applied Channel.

When you update the offset or the assignment...

Please note that when you try to update the assignment list, you will see a pop up notification. Click 'All Room Rates' to override the changes to all impacted room rates, or click 'New Room Rates', if you want to keep the existing setting for existing room rates, but only to apply the changes to newly-added room rates in the future.
